Women in Dairy West- Halter- Why, How and whats changed

Kaylee and Ben have always been around dairy farms. After travelling around Australia they came back to lease a farm at Neerim, that was about 7 years ago slowly building cow numbers to 225. They have very high production cows, producing over 700kg MS, a key focus is per cow production (pasture and genomics). They have taken on a second lease farm at Neerim South 12 months ago, where the plan will be milking 300 cows. Adding to the already busy dynamics of running 2 dairy farms they also do some Ag contracting. They employ 1 full-time staff member and have recently installed Halter.Adapting to new technology can make changes within your business.
