Q Fever Testing Booking Shepparton 16/10/2026 & 23/10/2026
SHEPPARTON TRAVEL CLINIC
Q fever vaccination process
You cannot have the Q fever vaccination if you have already had Q fever. If you were vaccinated a long time ago, or have questions about your Q fever risk, past vaccination, or possible prior exposure, we encourage you to speak with your GP about appropriate pre-vaccination screening.
The vaccination process has two steps:
1.First appointment Screening for Q fever (skin and blood test) - note: the blood test must be taken on the same day following your appointment with Shepparton Travel Clinic. The recommended location is at Dorevitch Pathology (located at Shepparton Private Hospital, 20 Fitzgerald St Shepparton). Dorevitch Pathology closes at 4pm and is 2.5km from the Shepparton Travel Clinic. Dorevitch Pathology will be aware that you are attending for a blood test.
2.Second appointment (7 days later) results are checked.
If you already have Q fever immunity, you won't be vaccinated.
If you do not have Q fever immunity, you will receive the vaccine during the appointment.
At the second appointment, the GP will give you a card showing your Q fever status (immune or vaccinated). This status will be added to your record in the Australian Immunisation Register that is linked to Medicare.
