This unique farm visit will explore the journey behind one of the region's most significant dairy infrastructure investments. Darren will share the decision-making process that led to the move towards a barn system and robotic milking, the research undertaken before construction, and the challenges and learnings experienced since the facility began operating.

The day will focus on the why behind the investment, covering:

• The decision-making process behind the barn and robotic dairy
• Design and system selection
• Management challenges and troubleshooting
• Adapting a housed system to South West Victorian conditions
• Labour, animal welfare and business considerations
• Key lessons learned from implementation and operation

Rather than simply touring the facility, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in discussion, ask questions and gain practical insights into the considerations involved in major dairy infrastructure investments.
