Advance Dairy Farm Business Analysis

Advanced Dairy Farm Business Analysis

Advanced Dairy Farm Business Analysis is a pilot of our refreshed workshop, designed to help dairy farmers better understand their numbers and use them to make more informed business decisions.

Facilitated by leading farm business consultants Fiona Smith and Cam Smith, this new two-day format replaces the original three-day workshop. A separate two-day introductory workshop has also been developed for participants looking to start their journey in farm business analysis, understand the key principles of why businesses should analyse their performance, the data required and the process involved in completing a full farm business analysis.

Working with practical farm examples, you will explore what the cash, profit and wealth views each reveal about business performance. You will calculate cost of production, examine break-even points and consider how changes to inputs can affect returns. The workshop also enables participants to interpret DairyBase reports and thus the performance of a business and to understand how that data can be used for forward planning in a business.

Whether you are looking for a clearer picture of performance or wanting to know how to use a farm business analysis in decision making, you will leave with practical tools and greater confidence to apply what you have learned on your own farm.

This workshop is designed for dairy farm owners and farm business managers who want to take the next step in understanding and analysing their farm business performance.

Participants will gain the greatest value if they have previously completed Introduction to Dairy Farm Business Analysis, the historical Dairy Farm Business analysis 3 day course or are already utilising DairyBase or other Farm Business analysis reports themselves or via a service provider.
