Trees on Dairy Farms – Shelter, Biodiversity and Grazing Opportunities

Join us for a practical on-farm discussion exploring how trees and vegetation can fit into productive dairy farming systems.

Sandra and Wilco will share their experiences establishing shelterbelts and biodiversity plantings, including what they've planted, what has worked, and what they've learned along the way.

We'll visit shelterbelts of different ages and purposes and explore agroforesty, biodiversity plantings and grazable shelterbelts, with opportunities to discuss species selection, establishment, management and benefits for the wider farm system. Callam Reynolds from Maffra & Districts Landcare Network will be available to discuss trees and carbon accounting if participants are interested.
