CalfWays launches new webpage and welcomes industry support

21 May 2026

CalfWays, the national effort to transform the management of non‑replacement dairy calves in Australia by 2035, has reached some major milestones with the launch of a dedicated webpage and e-newsletter as well as receiving a number of industry endorsements.

A new CalfWays webpage is now live, providing a central hub for the latest news, events, resources, project updates and case studies linked to the CalfWays roadmap. The page is designed to keep industry participants informed and support collaboration across the dairy and beef sectors. The webpage is hosted on the site of Dairy Australia’s CalfWays partner, Meat & Livestock Australia.

The site will also feature case studies of successful beef-from-dairy operations, including the story of the Crowden family from Tasmania’s Central North. Their story highlights how the family is using its large land base to run a profitable, well‑managed beef‑from‑dairy enterprise alongside milk production, demonstrating practical ways to create value from non‑replacement calves.

Meanwhile, broad industry support for CalfWays continues to grow with the announcement of a number of major endorsements.

Bega Group, ST Genetics, FeedWorks, Brancourts, CalfLink, Provico Rural, Fleckvieh Genetics Australia, Kiewa Catchment Landcare Groups and Wodonga Urban Landcare Network have all now formally endorsed the CalfWays roadmap.

Organisations that have not yet endorsed CalfWays are encouraged to visit calfways.com.au to find out how they can get involved by registering as an endorsee and supporting a more sustainable future for calf management in Australia.
