Draft Australian Guidelines for the Integrated Management of Ruminal Acidosis open for industry feedback

08 September 2026

An update to the Australian Guidelines for the Integrated Management of Ruminal Acidosis is currently being finalised and Dairy Australia is welcoming industry feedback on the draft Guidelines document.

Ruminal acidosis is a common and costly health issue, with up to 37% of Australian cows at high risk. It reduces productivity, welfare, profitability, and increases greenhouse gas (GHG) emission intensity.

The Guidelines are designed as a resource for nutritional professionals and veterinarians and are intended to contribute to informed decision-making.

Feedback on the revised Guidelines will be accepted up until the end of Sunday 4 October 2026.

You can view the draft Guidelines using the link below and feedback can be submitted by emailing submissions@dairyaustralia.com.au
